The Digital Technologies Hub: Coming soon…

DT Hub

Confused by the jargon? Have limited technology skills? Not sure what digital technologies means? Feel more like a Luddite than a Steve Jobs?

The Digital Technologies Hub (DT Hub) will provide Australian primary and secondary teachers with great links and new content to support you in implementing the Digital Technologies curriculum.

The DT Hub will launch on June 30 2016, and offer content for students, teachers, school leaders, and parents. The site will launch in four phases; with the focus for the first phase on teachers who have never taught in this area before.

While most of us have used technology in some format, we likely have limited skills and confidence in the area of digital technologies. The Getting Started section of the Hub will provide detailed learning sequences for teachers at all bands of the curriculum. These sequences will guide you through each step of a digital technologies lesson, which will likely connect with what you are already doing in Maths, Science or English. You’ll find assessment activities and ideas for extending students beyond the basics. You’ll also find links to school case studies for more ideas, and to a Resource Bank of links to content aligned to the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies.

This is a new learning domain and fitting it into a crowded school timetable could be tricky. Other parts of the site will provide tips to support whole-school implementation – exploring different models from integration into existing programs, to stand-alone subjects, and to extra-curricular ideas.

Stay tuned for the launch at www.digitaltechnologieshub.edu.au.
