Education Services Australia is pleased to announce the release of CanUHanyu, a Chinese language learning app designed to support learners of Chinese, developed through the National Asian Languages and Studies in Schools Program.
The CanUHanyu app features include:
- a dictionary of words and expressions with accompanying flashcards
- optional pinyin and English translations
- a recording function which allows learners to practise their pronunciation
- dictionary items arranged in over forty categories
- six levels of proficiency, from beginner primary to intermediate adult
- ability for students to create their own study sets from the dictionary, or be assigned sets by their teacher according to individual learner needs
- a games component featuring five innovative and interactive games that reinforce words and expressions learnt
- multiple ways for teachers to integrate the app into a teaching sequence to support learning and build cultural understanding.
The app is available now in app stores: iTunes and Google Play
The app can be accessed as a desktop version at www.canuhanyu.edu.au, with a keyboard accessible version
also available via this link.
CanUHanyu is featured on and accessible via the Language Learning Space via the Study tab.
